The second catalogue of the Fotofestival Lenzburg presents the seventh edition, which takes place from May 9 to June 7, 2026, under the theme “Forever Happy.” This theme reflects a deep inquiry into the complex, fleeting, and often contradictory nature of happiness in contemporary life. In a world saturated with images promising instant joy and well‑being, the festival examines how photography can help us understand what happiness is, where it comes from, and what its limits are — from personal moments of pleasure to broader cultural and societal pressures.
The festival presents 21 exhibitions featuring renowned international artists, each offering a unique perspective on “Forever Happy”: from the pursuit of joy in everyday life to the influence of media and consumer culture, from emotional and social relationships to the ways in which happiness is shaped, performed, and questioned across different contexts.
The catalogue features projects by the following photographers:
Paolo Woods (NL); Martin Parr (UK); Karla Hiraldo Voleau (CH/FR);Varvara Uhlik (UA); Alba Ruiz Lafuente (ES); Rodrigo Koraicho (BR); Eva O’Leary (US); Antigoni Papantoni (CH/GR); Juliana Gómez Quijano (CO); Aline d’Auria (CH); Yael Martínez (MX); Anne Morgenstern (CH/DE); Siân Davey (UK); Laura Paloma (CH); Tina Sturzenegger (CH); Mahalia Taje Giotto (CH); Alice Poyzer (UK); Jakub Stanek (PL); Franka Frankowska (PL)
Alongside glimpses of the group exhibitions with images from the 2026 Open Call, and projects realised in collaboration with z.B. Foto and Galerie 94, as well as a selection of archival material courtesy of SBB Historic.
The second catalogue of the Fotofestival Lenzburg is a testament to contemporary photography’s force in investigating happiness and a document of the Lenzburg Photography Society’s commitment to photography.
