About the Project
KAIROS is a personal exploration of trauma, memory, and the search for connection. Emerging from the artist’s migration from Greece to Switzerland over many years, the project reflects on how experiences of violence, isolation, and the silent denial that often follows can destabilise memory and undermine trust in one’s own perception.
Shot mainly on 35mm film, the photographs are raw and instinctive. Bodies, animals, interiors, vehicles, and landscapes appear as fragments of lived experience rather than parts of a linear narrative, revealing cycles of struggle, resilience, and the possibilities of overcoming oppressive patterns. Across the work, a deeper structure unfolds: violence, followed by denial and silence, and finally the difficult reclaiming of the capacity to see, name, and transform experience, without forgetting it.
Inspired by family albums, the exhibition leaves the visitor the agency of exploring or not exploring the work – presented here in its full form, with over 10’000 images in a small format.
