About the Project
In Tina’s work, food is living matter, more promise than nourishment. The images arise from rigorously constructed sets and from post-production that includes the use of AI to add selected details, without altering the structure of the shot, making the artifice perceptible and reactivating the advertising aesthetics of the 1960s and 1970s, with glossy surfaces, amplified colors, and impeccable happiness.
Abundance seduces, along with the construction of the image itself, which calls the gaze while hinting at its mechanism. It becomes the lexicon of consumer society, inviting surrender, inviting desire. Then something cracks. Excess exceeds measure, stretching the order that sustains it. Perfection attracts and exposes its construction. Happiness takes the form of performance, the body becomes a parameter, and food a tool oscillating between discipline and slip. Accumulation turns into vertigo. Where does desire end and taste begin to change?
