About the project
Begun in 2017, Beach Epiphany is a long-term photographic exploration of Miami Beach, where cultural diversity and late-capitalist tensions shape a layered social and psychological terrain. Framed by swamps, high-rises, and the threat of climate collapse, the city embodies both American excess and fragile foundations. While tourism and real estate flourish, rising seas and cultural erosion signal instability.
Moving between constructed narratives and lived encounters, the project challenges sanitized and fetishized visions of the city. Through quiet shoreline interactions, it considers how places shape bodies and identities. Rooted in walking, observing, and engagement, the series unfolds as a visual tapestry of fleeting moments—joy, estrangement, absurdity, intimacy—where epiphany remains subtle, transient, and unresolved.
