Based on the principle of image synthesis, the generators DALL E2<\/strong>, Midjourney<\/strong> and Stable Diffusion<\/strong> dominated discussions in the feature pages and technology columns of the media in the late summer and fall of 2022. Since December, the success of the voice AI ChatGPT has confirmed the hunch that AI is a revolution in technology that, like industrialization and digitization, will impact all areas of life. The momentum with which AI is improving and changing the way we live and work is impressive. What photography will still be in the future will not be defined by photography, but by AI.<\/p>\n

Boris Eldagsen is an early adopter of new A.I. technologies and their evolution, applying them to his own work. Through the combination of theoretical and practical engagement, has become one of the leading experts in A.I. and photography in the German-speaking world and gives numerous workshops and lectures in Germany and abroad.\u00a0He has been experimenting with DALL E2 and Stable Diffusion since the beginning and was the first in the German-speaking world to develop a workshop on AI-generated images.<\/p>\n

In this workshop Boris Eldagsen<\/a> gives an overview of the current state of technical development and its impact on photography and society – and uses his own examples to show how AI can be applied artistically.<\/p>\n

Boris Eldagsen (*1970) studied fine arts at the art academies of Mainz and Prague, and the University of Hyderabad (India) – and philosophy at the universities of Cologne and Mainz.
\nHis photomedia works have been shown internationally in institutions and festivals including Fridericianum Kassel, Deichtorhallen Hamburg, CCP Melbourne, ACP Sydney, EMAF Osnabr\u00fcck, Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, FORMAT Festival Derby, Singapore International Photography Festival, Chobi Mela Dhaka, Noorderlicht Groningen and Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Since 2004 he has taught at international art colleges and given workshops for the Goethe Institute and numerous international festivals and museums.
\nBoris is digital advisor to Roger Ballen and “Head of Digital” at the German Photographic Academy (DFA).
